Press Release

Cris Worley Fine Arts is proud to present Sense Impression, our fourth solo-exhibition with Dallas-based painter, Trey Egan, opening January 4, 2020 with an artist’s reception on Saturday, January 11th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The exhibition will feature new large-scale works produced in oil on canvas and will be on view through February 8, 2020.

Trey Egan’s abstract compositions are known for their bold applications of paint, employing a range of sensuous textures and lustrous hues. While in the studio, Egan employs specific musical genres to fuel inspiration. A rare, synesthetic perception allows the artist to interpret layers of sound into layers of paint, resulting in intuitively placed passages that dance across the canvas. Egan never repeats the exact color twice, creating complex and often varied color schemes.

Trey Egan received a Master of Fine Art from the University of North Texas College of Visual Art and Design. Since that time he has mounted six solo exhibitions. Likewise, he has been included in many group shows juried by such notables as: Peter Doroshenko (Executive Director of the Dallas Contemporary), Toby Kamps (director of external projects at London’s White Cube gallery), Clint Willour (then curator at the Galveston Arts Center) and artists Annette Lawrence, Vincent Falsetta, and Erick Swenson, among others. His work can be found in numerous private and corporate collections including Foley Gardere LLP, Kristin Farmer Autism Center, The Landes Group, Trive Capital, and the UT Southwestern William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, Toyota Motor Company, Frisco, TX. Trey Egan is also an educator, teaching drawing and painting at University of Texas at Dallas, Collin County Community College, and The Art Institute of Dallas.
